HAATH PHOOL

Gehna’s unquenchable thirst for new designs has led to the evolution of our contemporary “haath phool” – literally translated as “ Hand flower”. Traditionally, a piece of jewellery that was worn by Indian brides, the haath phool consists of a ring that sees a continuity into bracelet combining the two baubles into one flirtatious design.

The piece featured here comprises two rings – that continues into a delicate bracelet. This is a play on our very popular ‘ knuckle duster’ rings, This ornament  is ‘all-purpose’ and ‘anytime’. It is a perfect addition to ethnic outfits & can be styled with elan with any western ensemble as well. The chains create a “ripple effect” that is enchanting, exciting and enncapturing.

This cool reinterpretation of the traditional ornament has been extremely well received. Tastes in jewellery can vary from regal to tribal and this one piece has managed to satiate all such preferences. Gehna is a jewellery maker who is effortlessly stradding the past & the present, with an eye into the future. There is an ancient belief that certain ornaments and embellishments enhance the beauty of a woman, giving her a celestial appearance. The ‘haath phool’ is one of them. This modern version  is lust and drool worthy.
